Saturday, October 27 Two sessions: 10:00am – 12:00pm OR 12:00pm – 2:00pm
Sponsors can choose to give swimmers a lump sum, or a per-lap donation.
Each swimmer that raises at least $20 will be eligible for a Pizza Party that will be held immediately following their swim-a-thon session. The Pizza Party is for swimmers and their lap counters only.
Each swimmer will need to provide their own lap counter/timer (must be an adult). However, one adult may count laps for more than one child. Under no circumstances is a child allowed to be in the pool without a supervising adult.
Money raised through the swim-a-thon qualifies as part of the swim team fundraising fee ($100/family).
Prizes will be awarded:
Certificate for every Swimmer from USA Swimming.
Swimming more than 100 laps: pin from USA Swimming.
Swimming 200 laps: pin from USA Swimming.
Bringing in pledges more than $150, a T-Shirt (paid by November 9 to qualify).
Bringing in pledges more than $200, a Towel in addition to the T-Shirt (paid by November 9 to qualify).
A gift for every swimmer who participates (TBD).
Any swimmer participating in the “Swim-A-Thon 5000 for Time” and meets the time standard for his/her age group will be listed on the USA Website. A poster of time standards and rules will be posted before the swim-a-thon.
We will need to have parents volunteer to help with the swim-a-thon. Help will be needed with set-up, check-in, door prizes, food service, clean-up, and “gopher” activities. A sign-up sheet will be available the week of October 22.
All swim-a-thon money will need to be turned in by November 9. Checks are payable to Euclid Marlins. Any money collected before the Swim-a-thon can be turned in to the Treasurer on October 27.
All funds raised will be applied to your family's fundraising goal.
